Lisbon 1 Day

Welcome to our “1 day tour” through Lisboa. During this day we will have the opportunity to visit three of the most emblematic places of the Portuguese Capital.

The Belém district represents the monumentality of the sixteenth century: a time when the Portuguese were the lords of Asia, Africa and most of South America (Brazil) - the grandeur of the Jerónimos Monastery is a testimony of that time: we will visit the Church the Jerónimos Monastery and the old “Pastéis de Belém” bakery where is made what is, probably, the best cake in the world - we want you to taste this beloved delicacy of the Portuguese!

We will pass along the Belém Tower: one of the most beautiful bastions of war ever created by man – It’s not accessible but, due to its importance, we will stop to get better acquainted with its History.

From Belém we'll head to the Lisboa Rossio, the downtown created by the Marquis of Pombal to be the ideal town of the eighteenth century.

On the 1st of November 1755, morning, Lisboa suffers a devastating earthquake that is followed by a "tsunami"! For long minutes the people of Lisboa saw their city being destroyed: in the days following this disaster, the proud capital of the Portuguese watch the huge fires that destroy what had miraculously withstood.

The Renaissance town dies and a new town is reborn and rises to the auspices of the Age of the Enlightenment. Downtown Lisboa reflects the ideal of a rational town, made of wide streets that open to cosmopolitan plazas, built to be safe against earthquakes and where the house and the commerce lives side by side, creating a living space that never gets abandoned.

At D. Pedro V plaza (Rossio) there will be free time for shopping and a small meal. From Rossio we will visit the Lisbon Story Center at Comércio plaza.

We will depart from Baixa for Nations Park. Our journey through Lisboa History continues and we will meet the contemporary town of the XXI century.

Once an old industrial area with an oil refinery and a graveyard of ships, in the 80s, this was surely the least enviable area of the town.

This situation was changed with the desire to make the Expo 98 in Lisbon. The world exhibition of 1998 was the reason for starting the work that led to the birth a new town: Lisboa was reborn again!

We will visit the Oceanarium. About 1 million annual visits make this place the most visited in Portugal.

This enormous "aquarium" makes us travel through the major oceans of our planet. Stunning!

According to the time available, there may be some free time.

For your confort our tour will begin and end at the place which suits you best.

Go ... it's Accessible has the notion of the individuality of each of its customers. The right to leisure is one of their principles and their guides have an experience of several years in the monitoring of people with disabilities.
